This URL used to host the website of CITELEC, the erstwhile association of cities interested in electric vehicles. In the 1990s, CITELEC engaged in epic demonstration actions like the 12 Electric Hours or the Transeuropean. CITELEC was clearly ahead of its time, but couldn't thrive because of the unavailability at that time of long range electric vehicles, which would only come from circa 2010 with the advent of the lithium battery. But its spirit lives on, and this place now hosts the proceedings of the EVS symposia for which the processing was done by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the major centre of EV research in Belgium since nearly 50 years.
